Radio | J4 & GMB: Rootsriders live in de studio & Obama's Keniaanse feest

In Nairobi (Kenia) hebben weinig mensen geslapen tijdens de verkiezingsnacht in de States. 'De machtigste man ter wereld' is een halve Keniaan! Angel (Ghetto Radio) ging de straat op in Nairobi op de ochtend van de uitslag en peilde de reacties omringd door Amerikaanse vlaggen, Obama-taarten en feestmuziek.

Back in Holland houdt het Lijn5-team de stemming erin. Live in de studio zijn Shirma, Tjerk en Ivi van de Rootsriders. Ze zijn bekend van de Tribute to Bob Marley shows die ze door het hele land geven, maar binnenkort komt er een album en een benefietconcert voor de muziekinstrumenten-inzameling die ze voor musici in Afrika doen. Shirma en Tjerk vertellen over hun ervaringen op reis, over het nieuwe album en droppen (begeleid op gitaar door Ivi) een acappella in de studio.

In het derde uur hoor je de Obama Tribute mix van dj Threesixty die diep in de crates graaft naar tracks die dit historische moment illustreren zoals NNeka's 'Africa', Eddie Kendricks 'People', James Brown 'Say it loud', en een track van Dead Prez opgenomen in Tanzania.
